Like many others at the beginning of a new year I like to choose a word that reflects my intentions. This year’s word….drumroll….is ALERT !!
Lord, keep me awake and tuned into all of the ways you communicate with me. Unplug my ears and help me to hear even your softest whispers. Remove the weight of the world from my eyelids and bless me with fresh vision as I keep watch and ALERT !! for you. Amen
My Navy father used to always say, “red sky at night sailors’ delight, red sky at morn’ sailors’ take warn”. It’s a new day and the dawn of a new year I want to be ALERT !!
