About the Event
Chances are, you’ve heard the phrase, “Not now, I’m busy” and if you’re like most, you’ve used that phrase once or twice in your life. Sometimes, it’s hard to admit that you will choose what you’re doing rather than tend to the requests of someone else. In all honesty, that means that what you’re doing at that moment is more important, right? Well, maybe…
We’ve heard the tale of the two sisters, Martha and Mary featured in Luke’s gospel several times before. It’s a tug-o-war of sorts between what each sister views as priority at that moment. How can we apply the wisdom from this encounter with Jesus to our lives today? After all, we are all faced with countless distractions, invitations and opportunities to serve, right?
We hope that you will join us for an overnight women’s retreat with facilitator Meg Castellini. We will take a fresh look at this passage which will help us understand what Jesus meant by “Mary has chosen the better part“ (Luke 10:42) and furthermore, how to tap in and hang on to it.
This retreat will be facilitated by Meg Castellini who has been journeying with groups throughout the Diocese of Syracuse for the past 16 years. Meg brings new meaning to scripture as she provides experiences which enrich our understanding and further our contemplation. Meg has served as a hospital chaplain and is currently using her gifts as communications specialist for the Spiritual Renewal Center and on a freelance basis.
